Women Development Cell of Nirmal Degree College organized Rubella awareness programme for female students in the presence of I/C Principal Dr. Y. S. Kadam , Vice – Principal Dr. Kiran Gajjar, Co-ordinator Dr. Bhawana Paliwal and other faculty members.
The session began with introductory speech by Mrs. Saroj Lohar the Chairperson of the Cell. She explained the need and the objective of Rubella Vaccination Drive.
Rotary Club President Shri Uday Shah , Dr. , and other members Shri Kirit Sanghvi, Mrs. Prithika Samani Director of Youth Club at Rotary Club explained about lot of unknown facts about the benefits people can derive from Rubella Vaccination.
Though some of the students were not aware of the benefits of Measles-rubella (MR) vaccination at teen age. They had also explained about need of Rubella Vaccination. Rubella (also known as German Measles) is a disease caused by a virus. The virus is air-borne, which means it can spread through the air when you do things like coughing or sneezing.

Symptoms can include :

  • A rash
  • Sore throat
  • A slight temperature
  • Swollen glands.

Rubella is very dangerous for a pregnant woman and her developing baby. Anyone who is not vaccinated against rubella is at risk of getting the disease. Although rubella was declared eliminated from the U.S. in 2004, cases can occur when unvaccinated people are exposed to infected people, mostly through international travel. Women should make sure they are protected from rubella before they get pregnant.

The most common birth defects from CRS can include:

  • Deafness
  • Cataracts
  • Heart defects
  • Intellectual disabilities
  • Liver and spleen damage
  • Low birth weight
  • Skin rash at birth

It was also explained in the same session that there is no cure available and hence it is important for women to get vaccinated before they get pregnant.

The session ended with Mrs. Saroj Lohar expressing her gratitude towards the members of Rotary Club and announced their felicitation by Dr. kadam Sir who presented with a Bouquets as tokens of appreciation.

Women Development Cell of Nirmal Degree College organized Rubella Awareness programme for female students in the presence of I/C Principal Dr. Y. S. Kadam, Vice-Principal Dr. Kiran Gajjar, Co-ordinator Dr. Bhawana Paliwal and other faculty members.

The session began with introductory speech by Mrs. Saroj Lohar the chairperson of the cell. She explained the need and the objective of Rubella Vaccination Drive.

Rotary Club member Mr. Bhavin Toprani, Dr. Girish Trivedi and Mrs. Prithika Samani Director of Youth Club were present. Dr. Girish Trivedi explained the benefits of Rubella Vaccination.

Rubella is very dangerous for a pregnant woman and her developing baby. Anyone who is not vaccinated against rubella is at risk of getting the disease.

These are a safe and effective vaccine to protect against rubella. The vaccine is given as part of a combination vaccine, called the MMR Vaccine that protects against measles; mumps and rubella.

At the end of the session expressing her (Mrs. Saroj Lohar) gratitude towards the members of Rotary Club and announced their felicitation by Dr. Kadam Sir who presented potted plant as token of appreciation to Dr. Girish Trivedi and Mr. Bhavin Toprani.

WDC of Nirmal Degree College conducted Rubella Vaccination Drive in collaboration with Rotary Club, Kandivali wherein the President Shri. Pradeep Mehta who duly explained the female students about the benefits of Rubella Vaccination.

Though some of the students were apprehensive about the whole idea of going through the process of vaccination, since they had not heard of such vaccination available and the advantages of it. Through earlier visits of Rotary Club Members Dr. Girish Trivedi had already explained that this vaccination is indeed going to be beneficial for their physical well being. They got consent from their parents and this drive was held wherein he made sure that all of them get vaccinated on the said day.

Present for the event was the WDC head Mrs. Saroj Lohar, Principal Shri Y. S. Kadam, Coordinator Dr. Bhawana Paliwal and other female lecturers.

The session ended with thanks giving speech by Mrs. Saroj Lohar duly expressing her gratefulness towards all.

Vaccination Drive 2019

Women Development Cell of Nirmal Degree College conducted Rubella Vaccination Drive in collaboration with Rotary Club, Kandivali (west) where in the President Shri. Uday Shah who duly explained the female students about the benefits of Rubella Vaccination.
As earlier visits of Rotary Club Members Dr. had already explained that this vaccination is indeed going to be beneficial for their physical well being .
They got consent from their parents and this drive was held wherein he made sure that all of them get vaccinated on the said day.
In this session 49 female students were vaccinated.

This programme ended with thanksgiving speech by Mrs. Saroj Lohar duly expressing her gratefulness towards all.
