The Government of Maharashtra – MMVD, CSR Diary and CASI Global jointly organized the MahaWalkathon 2018 was held across the state of Maharashtra at 100+ locations simultaneously at the same time, supporting road safety, no honking, and responsible driving, and created a record!
Nirmal Degree College of Commerce took part in the MAHA WALKATHON, a mega event organised by the Transport Department (Maharashtra Government) on Sunday, 18th November 2018 to spread awareness about Road Safety.
We at Nirmal Degree College of Commerce are proud to have been one of the host partners for the first time and support this noble cause along with the Government. We had over 109 participants including our very own learners, members of teaching staff and administrative staff.
This walkathon saw the participants undertaking a 2 km walk around the area on an early Sunday morning. The chill of the air and the laxity of a Sunday surely did not dampen the efforts of the participants. We would like to thank all our learners and staff for supporting this movement and making this walkathon a grand success!
To create awareness about Road Safety, students from all the Classes holding placards, posters, slogans and banners accompanied by teachers marched towards Kandivali Station from the college and took a U-Turn back to College with the College banner.
The placards displayed the relevant themes. This event wound up by 9.15 a.m. and then the disperse orders were given. It was an enriching experience for all the participants, especially the students as they became more aware about the Road Safety rules and other related issues
