Women Development Cell of Nirmal Degree College of Commerce had organized “International Women’s Day” on 8th March 2018, in the presence of I/C Principal Dr. Y. S. Kadam, Vice Principal Dr. Kiran Gajjar and other faculty members.

Dr. Y. S. Kadam delivered inspirational speech which went as follows:

International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women, who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.

Vice Principal Dr. Kiran Gajjar has shared his opinion and said that achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls is very important that ensures inclusive and quality education for all as also to promote lifelong learning. International Women’s Day 2018 is an opportunity to transform this momentum into action, to empower women in all settings, rural and urban, and celebrate the activists who are working relentlessly to claim women’s rights and realize their full potential.

All female members/ students seemed quite impressed with his speech which was followed by thanksgiving speech by Dr. Sonali Nandu.

Dr. Y. S. Kadam delivered Inspirational speech went as follows –

The role of women has changed tremendously and they have been able to create a positive impression in the society. From housewives to CEOs, the transition can be seen at an accelerating rate. Modernization and the advent of the latest technology have widened hope and opportunities for them. They have established themselves socially, politically and economically in almost every field. Women are no longer considered unfit or weak for military or for other defense forces.

Vice Principal Dr. Kiran Gajjar had explained the reason to celebrate the purpose of International Women’s Day is to bring attention to the social, political, economic, and cultural issues that women face, and to advocate for the advance of women within all those areas. As the organizers of the celebration state, “Through purposeful collaboration, we can help women advance and unleash the limitless potential offered to economies the world over.”

The day is often also used to recognize women who’ve made significant contributions to the advancement of their gender. Students also shared their views and opinion on this day All members and students seemed quite impressed with speech of Principal and Vice Principal.

The session ended with thanks giving speech by Mrs. Saroj Lohar.
