Women Development Cell of Nirmal Degree College conducted a workshop on 21st Dec 2017, in presence of I/C Principal Shri Y.S. Kadam, Vice Principal Dr. Kiran Gajjar and Co-coordinator Dr. Bhawana Paliwal and other faculty members.
In this workshop main focus was put on hygiene, friendship with the opposite gender and spreading awareness about Rubella Vaccination.
Dr. Sonali Nandu delivered a speech on friendship with the opposite gender. She shared her experiences and views with students. Students actively participated and raised their doubts which were duly clarified by her. She also discussed that friendship with the opposite gender is not bad as such if done within the parameters of a pious and platonic relationship. In fact real friendship most of the times get blossomed with the opposite gender as they do in case of same gender.
Mrs. Nisha Jikadara explained that hygiene is a set of practices performed to preserve health. She explained the aim of spreading awareness of self-hygiene within the budding young females so that they are well informed about taking extra care about their physical fitness that indirectly affects their mental health too. These very informative lectures by staff members were followed by the visit of Rotary Club members Shri Pradeep Mehta and Dr. Girish Trivedi. They were duly welcomed by the WDC head Mrs. Saroj Lohar and honored by the I/C Principal Shri Y. S. Kadam. Both the visitors talked with female students about their mental and physical safety and also made all of them aware of the rubella vaccination. They tried convincing the girls to go in for the vaccination and also to convince their parents to permit them for the said purpose. In the end, they distributed free samples of lifebuoy soap, Ponds Cream, etc. to all.
They wound up the session with the students to get their parents to consent for the purpose. The session concluded with vote of thanks by the head of WDC Mrs. Saroj Lohar.
